Please read on for information on a Natural England farm survey to explore how mob grazing affects soil health:
Natural England and ADAS will be kicking off a new, rapid paired farm survey to explore how mob grazing affects soil health. The project will be delivered by Lizzie Sagoo and her team at ADAS, and soil sampling will take place during February 2023.
They are looking for farmers to get involved by clicking on this signup link below:
This should take you to a signup page for the project. Please pass this on to your friends and colleagues that might be interested, or make it available through any networks you’re involved in?
They are looking for those who are already mob grazing, but also those who aren’t so they can get a comparison between systems. To this end, they’re asking people who are mob grazing to send on these links to local friends and colleagues that use a different approach, to see if they can get valid comparisons between locally paired sites. However, if there’s mob grazing on just part of a farm they can sample both areas.
They’ll try to sample as many farms as they can, and the results from each farmer involved will be supplied back to them, set in the context of anonymized results from the wider study. They’ll also try to follow up the project with a webinar to communicate and discuss the results to everyone interested in the project.
Please respond by 31st January 2023.
