Herefordshire Wildlife Trust have a large water container that may be of interest to you. It is in good condition, all ready for use.

They are giving it away for free, but it would need to be collected from the yard at Queenswood Country Park, Dinmore Hill, HR6 0PY.  HWT have the equipment to load it onto a trailer.

Details below:

  • Decca Plastics Ltd Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Water Cistern (tank)
  • Capacity; nominal 2,270 litres, actual 1,737 litres
  • Dimensions in metres ; Approx.  2m long x 1.4 wide x 1.1 high

See photos below

Also associated GRP cover that fits over the top of the tank

  • Dimensions in metres: Approx.  3m long x 2 wide x 1.5 high

It does hold water as there is some water in it, although HWT can’t guarantee that all the way to the top as it has not been full in recent years. It has a cistern in it (a mechanism for shutting off the water once it’s full like in a domestic toilet).  Likewise, HWT cannot guarantee this works as it has not been filled to see if it shuts off.
