AHDB “Make it Steak Night”

Christine Watts, Chief Officer for Communications and Market Development, AHDB

“There is little doubt that the events of recent weeks are changing how we live, work and care for one another, as well as how we shop and eat.
Supply chains and farmers are having to adapt in new ways to new challenges, and here at AHDB, we are committed to supporting where we can.

We are now expanding our support further by launching a 12-week beef consumer campaign around the call to #makeitsteak and #steaknight to help redress carcase balance and generate additional value for the beef supply chain.

We are working with colleagues in Scotland and Wales on our new promotional campaigns, which include beef, lamb and pork, and will roll these out over the coming weeks, in national media and on social channels. The focus is on marketing to consumers of all ages across Britain.

At the same time, we are increasing the presence of the award-winning Department for Dairy-Related Scrumptious Affairs (DDRSA) across social media (instagram.com/deptofdairyscrumptiousaffairs and facebook.com/TDDRA) to remind people of the versatility and enjoyment of dairy in the diet.

To help us amplify the content and get the nation cooking, we have pulled together a collection of relevant links, recipes and ‘how-to videos’ for all to share widely. This is on our website at ahdb.org.uk/steak-night

We would welcome our farmers and growers supporting these campaigns. Please take a look at our websites and get involved! At AHDB, we continue to do what we can to support you during these exceptional times. Please do help share the content so we can amplify our messaging and reach as many people as possible.”
